Summertime, and the living is easy

Howdy, folks!  So, school is almost out for all of you teens, and I know when I was that age I would look forward to two things: camp and books.  I don’t know if teens still go to camp (do you?), but I do know that you read like crazy!  So, what are you planning on reading this summer?  Me?  I’m reading the first book in the Song of Ice and Fire series, A Game of Thrones, by George R.R. Martin (yeah, I’m a nerd).  Let me know what you’re reading in the comments!

  1. Yeah, I’m actually not as big a nerd as Brian but I also am reading “A Game of Thrones”. We’re book buddies. So far it is so awesome that I actually turned off the internet so I could read…yeah, THAT internet!

    I tend to read non-summery books in the summer. Like this summer, I’m reading “The Golden Notebook” by Doris Lessing — 635 p. of Nobel-y goodness!

    I also have a pile of graphic novels and comix I want to get through: Y the Last Man; Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic; American Born Chinese; The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service; Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei, and maybe some more Fruits Basket…

  5. I think my summer reading is going to begin with Life as We Knew It or Specials (the 3rd book in the Uglies series). I have quite a few books borrowed from people that I’ve neglected since January because of ICPL’s collection. Yay for summer reading!

  6. umm…I have yet to get past the second page in “Pretties.” I’m getting there, Jill!
    And…I want to read “Timothy and the Dragon’s Gate” since the author emailed me yesterday. Plus “The Hunger Games” (sorry, Brian, I still have the ARC. let me know if you’re desperate for it!)

  7. Yeah I finished that one. But it turned to out to be a complete Twilight remake. There is this guy who is stalking the girl, Zara. They find out he is a pixie and wants to make her his queen by kissing her. I totally predicted the whole thing. Talk to me privetly for spoilers.
